Meet the Writers

We are delighted to be joined by some of Scotland’s most exciting authors working in Gaelic, Scots and English.

SGRÌOBH
Building Bridges.
This brand-new Book Festival has been developed in response to community identified demand for literary opportunities that bring the best of Scottish writers to our bilingual communities and provide opportunities for local writers and those interested in books and reading to come together, share work and build connections.
The festival recognises that language can build barriers or bridges and we want to celebrate language whilst highlighting some of the great moments in Gaelic culture thereby creating connections within our communities. Kilmuir continues to breathe our native language while embracing spoken, sung and written words from other sources and we look to encourage respect and nurture through sharing

“Tha e air a bhith na thlachd a bhith ag obair air seo còmhla ris a’ chòrr dhen sgioba – an fheadhainn a smaoinich air leithid de thachartas a chur air dòigh. Tha mi an dòchas gun tig muinntir an àite ann agus gun tarraing rud caran diofar mar seo daoine à ceàrnaidhean eile dhan talla bheag againne.”
